HAPI Heliport Approach Path Indicators

The HAPI light for heliport, a heliport approach path indicator, provides the pilot with a safe and accurate landing slope on final approach to a heliport. A set of two LED HAPI lights are seen by the pilot in combinations of green and red to indicate a landing slope that is too high, too low, or within the 6 degrees ± 0 degrees and 15′ landing slope range. The HAPI light, a precise approach path indicator system, typically consists of two light units located on the side of the runway, adjacent to the origin of the landing slope.
